Arnold Optometrist, Eye Exams and Glasses

Frequently Asked Questions

Here at Pikul Optometry P.C., we are passionate about what we do. We believe strongly that the people of Arnold deserve to enjoy clear vision for as long as possible. We know that regular exams and treatment are an essential part of that, and we strive to make our services affordable and accessible to the people of Arnold.

Our goal is to educate our patients about the best ways to care for their eyes, and when they should see an eye doctor. If you don’t find answers to your questions below, give us a call at (636) 287-6322 to speak to a representative that can help you.

How Often Is an Eye Exam Necessary?

We recommend that you get an eye exam annually, or once a year. Many conditions that affect your eyes don’t have obvious symptoms when they are most treatable. An annual eye exam allows us to catch any problems before they get out of control.

Typically, insurance companies will pay for one exam each year, because it is common knowledge that those who don’t see an eye doctor regularly are at higher risk for eye disease.

How Often Do I Need New Glasses?

We recommend that you get new glasses anytime your prescription has changed. Your optometrist will advise you when new glasses are essential, making it even more important that you visit the eye doctor regularly.

If your prescription remains the same, you may be able to use the same glasses until you are tired of your old ones.

How Are Farsightedness and Nearsightedness Treated?

Farsightedness (hyperopia) and nearsightedness (myopia) can be treated in several different ways. Depending on the severity of your case, your optometrist may prescribe glasses, contact lenses, or even LASIK surgery to repair your eyes.

We encourage the people of Arnold to visit an optometrist regularly to determine the best ways to treat nearsightedness and farsightedness. Since every case is different, it’s important that your eye doctor from Pikul Optometry P.C. examine your eyes when you first notice a problem.

What insurances do you accept?

At Pikul Optometry, we accept both vision and medical insurance as payment for you eye examination. Medical Insurance can be used for an eye examination if you are being evaluated for a medical condition such as Diabetes, Dry Eye, Cataract, Retinal Conditions, etc. Please ask our staff if you have any questions regarding our ability to take your insurance if you do not see it listed below.

Vision Insurances accepted: Spectera, March Vision, Davis, Superior, and many more!

Medical Insurances accepted: Medicare, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Tricare, and many more!
